Some of our customers were nominated for the Customer of Year Award at our Annual Rewards and Recognition event. Here is one of the winner’s stories:
Charlotte Jackson – Winner Customer of the Year Award
Charlotte has been nominated for the Customer of the Year Award because of the determination that she has shown in overcoming some of the barriers that she has faced on her journey. Charlotte has a learning difficulty that makes it difficult for her to understand others and to make herself understood, as well as some challenges with reading and writing. Charlotte has also faced a lot of instability in her life, and as a result, when she first joined the Work Choice Programme, she found it difficult to interact with her advisor. Through the programme Charlotte secured an opportunity to work as a Cleaner and with the support of her advisors, who championed her ability, she was successful. Charlotte now works six days a week, starting at four o’clock in the morning, and despite these early starts, she still finds the energy to volunteer at her local church twice a week and helps out at a charity shop. Charlotte has recently been offered additional hours, with her employer, a real testament to her work ethic. Since starting her journey on the Work Choice Programme, Charlotte has strived to develop herself. She is learning to read and write something which she stood up in church and spoke about, and is working hard on developing her communication skills. Charlotte has been described as a truly inspirational.
