1) What are CDG – WISE Ability’s key aims?
Our core purpose is to support people with disabilities or long term health conditions who are unemployed find worthwhile and sustainable employment and improve their quality of life. We aim to deliver a service that meets the needs of our customers ensuring both a high quality and an excellent service.
2) Who are your customers and where do you operate?
Our customers are unemployed or at risk of losing their job and aged from 16 years old, they are referred to us by the disability employment adviser at Jobcentre Plus and other statutory referral organisations.
Many may have been unemployed for a long period of time, or maybe they have never been employed and include people with complex needs such as disabilities and other challenges that may impact on their ability to find employment, for example anxiety, depression and low self-esteem, which may be exacerbated or directly attributable to being out of work.
Our commitment to those referred to us does not stop at the point they gain employment but continues to ensure they sustain employment for years to come.
The CDG – WISE Ability Work Choice programme operates across the whole of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
3) What is the Work Choice programme?
Work Choice is a government-funded programme designed to support people with disabilities or long term health conditions to gain and sustain employment. It is to help people to not only find and secure employment, but to provide in work support to enable them to sustain employment long term.
4) Who funds CDG – WISE Ability’s services?
CDG – WISE Ability is funded through the government’s Work Choice contract.
5) Who does CDG – WISE Ability work in partnership with?
CDG – WISE Ability is a managing agent and delivers the Work Choice programme through its supply chain made up of charities and local authority providers.
Our supply chain has a wealth of local knowledge in the welfare to work sector. They have extensive networks and strong employer relationships which enables them to supports their customers to achieve their full potential.
CDG – WISE Ability also has a large extended supply chain to enable customers to benefit from additional support such as debt counselling, housing advise, literacy and numeracy, benefit advise, drug and alcohol counselling and vocational qualifications.
